Southampton Boat Show Event

Southampton Boat Show Event

Thank you to all our berth holders and members who attended this years hospitality event at the Southampton Boat Show.  The return of this annual event was so much fun and it was truly lovely to be sharing it again after last years understandable cancellation.  We thought we’d share the pictures captured by one of our stand sponsors, Coleman Marine Insurance.

You can view the news article on Dorset Biz here.  We’re already looking forward to next year!

Featured at this years show from Salterns Brokerage is the brand new FUGU 29 which is a UK first and exclusive and the Sealegs 7.5m which is fully customisable and benefits from all the amazing amphibious technology we’ve all come to love.

We also had a bespoke Sea-Doo to view that show cases Offshore Performances customisation services.  With bespoke pearlescent paint work and hand stitched seats this ski is a real head turner.

THE HISTORY OF SALTERNS MARINA

Our history and heritage dates back well over 200 years with the name ‘Saltern’s’ originating from when the area was active in salt-making. Between 1943-48 the site was used as the Flying Boat Headquarters and was Britain’s only active Airport. The term airport originates from sites such as Salterns where sea planes would land from the ‘Air’ into a ‘Port’. These traditions may have evolved but Salterns still stands for exceptional standards and trailblazing engineering. By the 1970’s the old quay and pontoons were transformed into a luxury Marina for yachts and motorboats – all of which you see today and offers our Berth Holders and visitors panoramic views over Brownsea Island and the sandbanks peninsula.
